Alpine's Advanced Mobile Multimedia Stations Offer ALL-IN-ONE Source and Navigation Control at Fingertips
TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 7, 2008 – With myriad choices for information and entertainment in the car, easy connection and intuitive access to all these sources is an important consideration for the modern-day driver. Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of automotive mobile media solutions, offers three innovative in-dash audio/video Mobile Multimedia Stations' "the IVA-W505, IVA-D106 and IVA-W205" that provide an easy-to-use interface with touch-screen command over digital media sources, portable or fixed navigation systems, and Bluetooth® connectivity.
"Alpine's Mobile Multimedia Stations are more than just handsome source units, they serve as the control center for a full audio/video plus navigation system," said Stephen Witt, vice president, marketing and product planning, Alpine Electronics. "Our goal is to give consumers the benefits of an integrated fixed system, with the flexibility to use their portable navigation system in multiple vehicles."
For the audiophile, all three Mobile Multimedia Stations have a high-resolution 24-bit DAC so audio enthusiasts can enjoy crisp, crystal-clear sound detail from their music. Each receiver boasts full processor control and multi-channel playback capabilities with Dolby Digital®, Dolby Pro-Logic® II and DTS® support, when connected to the appropriate system-building components. To conveniently upgrade sound quality and power, the new Alpine PXA-H100 IMPRINT™ audio processor and KTP-445 Head Unit Power Pack can be added to the new IVA-W505 and IVA-D106 head units. (Upgrades sold separately.) The PXA-H100 automatically tunes and corrects the car's inherent acoustical problems so that listeners can experience music as the artist intended, while the easy-to-install KTP-445 increases system output to a clean, highly efficient 45W x 4 RMS (at the CEA-2006 Power Rating).
IVA-W205 Double-DIN Mobile Multimedia Station
The IVA-W205 is a double-DIN DVD/CD/MP3/WMA audio/video receiver with a 6.5-inch QVGA PulseTouch™ monitor, which gives the user tactile confirmation feedback when the monitor is touched. The IVA-W205 can also connect to a vast array of digital sources, services and devices. Easily integrate and enjoy full touch screen control over sources such as XM or SIRIUS satellite radio, HD Radio with multicasting and Bluetooth. (Separate adapters, tuner boxes and service subscriptions required.) iPods with a dock connector can be controlled directly from the head unit when used with the included KCE-422i Full Speed cable. The IVA-W205 also features Percentage Search, which takes the iPod’s music library and divides it into six groups that are accessible through preset buttons on the head unit. This unique feature lets users jump to a section of their music library instead of individually scrolling through each file.
Control Centers for Navigation Systems All three Mobile Multimedia Stations can serve as control centers for Alpine's PMD-B200 Blackbird™ portable navigation device or NVE-N872A fixed DVD-based navigation system. The IVA-W505 and IVA-W205 serve as the in-dash docking station for the second-generation PMD-B200 Blackbird portable navigation device (sold separately). The head units' motorized faceplates slide down to a 90-degree angle to reveal the DVD/CD slot and a dedicated slot for the PMD-B200. Once docked inside, all navigation features and user commands are automatically transferred from the PMD-B200 to the head units' larger touch screen display. This audio/video plus navigation (AV+N) set up, dubbed Dock "n" Roll, enables consumers to have both the car-to-car flexibility of a portable navigation device as well as the power and integrated features of an in-dash system.
Docking the PMD-B200 Blackbird into the IVA-W505 or IVA-W205 also allows the Blackbird's hands-free calling features to be fully integrated and used through the Mobile Multimedia Station. The IVA-D106 can also be paired with the PMD-B200 Blackbird portable navigation device (additional docking station required, sold separately), with all navigation controls automatically transferred to the head unit's touch screen and/or remote control.
For those who prefer fixed navigation, the IVA-W505, IVA-W205 and IVA-D106 can be combined with the DVD-based, satellite traffic-linked NVE-N872A fixed system with updated NVD-A802 software. This powerful fixed system offers more than 9 million Points of Interest (POIs) and maps of the U.S., including Hawaii, and Canada. With the NVE-N872A, consumers can input navigation data through the Mobile Multimedia Station using any combination of voice, touch screen and/or remote control commands.
