Alpine's Advanced Mobile Multimedia Stations Offer ALL-IN-ONE Source and Navigation Control at Fingertips

TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 8, 2007 – Nearly 10 million people now drive more than an hour to work, up 50 percent from 1990. Combine that with weekend warrior trips, about-town jaunts and driving vacations, and the car's role in everyday life is undeniable. To help consumers enjoy the drive, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of mobile media solutions, offers four highly flexible audio/video (AV) touch-screen head units that let drivers design an integrated in-car audio/video plus navigation (AV+N) system suited precisely to their needs.

With Alpine's AV head units, the IVA-W205, IVA-D105, IVA-W200 and IVA-D310, consumers can enjoy all-in-one connectivity and touch-screen access to their choice of today's hottest digital entertainment sources, services and devices (additional adapters, tuner boxes and service subscriptions required). Alpine's unique Quick Search™ feature enables users to navigate through media content with simple, easy-to-use controls. Digital connectivity options include:

iPod® Full Speed Enabled: Directly connect an iPod and navigate large music libraries quickly and easily with on-screen display of artist, album, song or playlist.
Satellite Radio Enabled: XM® or SIRIUS® satellite radio can be accessed with on-screen channel and song tag information.
HD Radio® Enabled: Access static-free digital HD Radio® broadcasts with separate TUA-T500HD; new 2007 head units also get multicasting capabilities.
USB WMA/MP3 Enabled: Play and control USB-based WMA/MP3 portable devices through the head unit.
Bluetooth® Enabled: Operate Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices wirelessly using the KCE-300BT Bluetooth interface module, developed in cooperation with Motorola. New 2007 Ai-NET head units show on-screen display of Caller ID, Missed/Dialed/Received Calls and direct dial Address Book access. Users can listen to music from audio service providers such as Motorola streaming audio services on Bluetooth-enabled phones or devices with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) streaming audio support. If the device has the Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), basic control of the music files such as Play/Pause, and Track Up/Down is enabled through the head unit.
SIRIUS Plug and Play Enabled (new 2007 head units only): Play and control select SIRIUS plug and play devices through the head unit.
XM Mini-Tuner Enabled: Use a new 2007 Ai-NET head unit to play and control portable devices that use XM's new Mini-Tuner platform. The XM Mini-Tuner is a tiny cartridge that contains the XM chipset, making it possible for subscribers to take their XM subscription from one XM compatible device to another, including from home to car. Separate Mini-Tuner car dock and Smart Digital Adapter for Alpine head units required, sold separately.

Each AV head unit also has a high-resolution 24-bit DAC and optical outputs so audio enthusiasts can enjoy crisp, crystal-clear sound detail from their music. Each receiver also boasts full processor control and multi-channel playback capabilities with Dolby Digital®, Dolby Pro-Logic® II and DTS® support, when connected to the appropriate system-building components.

IVA-W205 Double-DIN AV Head Unit
New for 2007, the IVA-W205 is a double-DIN DVD/CD/MP3/WMA head unit with 6.5-inch QVGA PulseTouch™ monitor, which gives the user tactile confirmation feedback when the monitor is touched. The IVA-W205 serves as a revolutionary new docking station for the Blackbird (PMD-B200) portable navigation device. This powerful yet flexible "Dock 'n' Roll" AV+N system won a 2007 CES Best of Innovations Award in the Mobile Electronics category. The IVA-W205's motorized faceplate slides down to a 90-degree angle, revealing the DVD/CD slot and separate slot for the Blackbird. Once the Blackbird is tucked inside, all user control functions are automatically transferred to the head unit's larger touch-screen monitor. The IVA-W205 has iPod Percentage Search, a unique feature that divides an iPod music library into six percentage groupings for faster access and file navigation, instead of scrolling through hundreds of files one by one (KCE-422i Full Speed™ Connection for iPod cable required).

IVA-D105 Single-DIN AV Head Unit
New for 2007, the IVA-D105 is a single-DIN DVD/DivX/CD/MP3/WMA/AAC receiver that offers easy view and control over the car's entire AV+N system via its 6.5-inch motorized PulseTouch monitor. It can play back many media formats, including AAC, DVD-Audio, DVD+/-R/RW discs and DivX. The IVA-D105's iPod Percentage Search function offers faster iPod file navigation (KCE-422i Full Speed Connection for iPod cable required). For car-audio enthusiasts, the unit features a built-in 5.1 decoder with high-pass/low-pass filters and digital time correction. The IVA-D105 does not have a separate hide-away "brain," making installation easier.

IVA-W200 Double-DIN AV Head Unit
The IVA-W200 is a double-DIN DVD/CD/MP3/WMA AV head unit with 6.5-inch QVGA PulseTouch display. It has a clean, stealth appearance with only a few slim buttons on its bottom frame, making it easy to visually and physically integrate into almost any double-DIN dash. The monitor's SwingFace™ design allows the faceplate to swing down, revealing the DVD/CD slot. The iPod Full Speed Connection with Percentage Search function offers quick navigation through large iPod music libraries (KCE-422i Full Speed Connection for iPod cable required).

IVA-D310 Single-DIN AV Head Unit The IVA-D310 is a premium single-DIN DVD/CD/MP3/WMA AV head unit with a 7-inch motorized PulseTouch monitor. When the monitor is closed, it retracts back into the dash, but a front-panel display allows users to see radio station channels and disc tracks while controlling the unit. Full touch-screen control and fast navigation of an iPod is available with the optional KCA-420i Interface Adapter for iPod. Audiophiles can enjoy the IVA-D310's built-in high pass/low pass digital crossover setup with four-channel time correction.
